Why Bihar Utsav is organising?

The eastern state of India, Bihar from time immemorial has contributed significantly in highlighting the glory of tangible and intangible heritage of India. It has also played, as we know from the incidents and moments of history and also pre-history, very vital role in shaping the political and philosophical ideologies and their multiple layers in changing times.
The contribution of the scholars of Bihar in the areas of navy-nyaya (Neo-Logic), mimansa, mathematics, political sciences, chand etc. are well known. It has had the proud past to say that a simple Bhilini with her meaningful folk song created a great source of inspiration for Siddharth that ultimately made him Gautama the Buddha.
Because of some recent political development and some other factors the people of this state are now facing a very peculiar position. The people of Bihar contribute a major share of the total population of Delhi and its satellites. Here also. like the other communities, the people of Bihar are playing a major role in all possible dimensions of the development of the national capital region.
Far away from their native place the people have successfully been managing to retain the rituals, festivals and cultural identity of their state. The celebration of Chath, Holi and other festivals of Bihar are now very popular in Delhi. In past couple of years these activities have created a direct political and cultural link of the people of this state in Delhi. Maithili and Bhojpuri are now officially recognized by the Delhi State Government and very soon we will have Maithili and Bhojpuri Academy in Delhi.
The member of Bihari Diaspora of Delhi have seriously been feeling to get an opportunity to meet the artists, scholars, administrators, cultural specialists, social animators from all walks of society and geographical pockets of Bihar living in and around Delhi.
